Pivot Table Conditional Formatting using Vlookup result

Hi, really hope someone can help me with this.

I have a pivot table that is showing locations, and number of tasks over a time period. I have a vlookup table for these locations wich also has a designation. I want to use conditional formating for the locations, making them a particular colour IF the disignation from the VLookup table contains a particular entry. I can get this to work, if the Vlookup table is on the same sheet as teh pivot table, but it isn't. Anyone any ideas on what...
